A NOTE FROM SCHOOL NURSE

The Cambodian Ministry of Health announced that there has been an outbreak of pink eye all over the country. Pink eye is a common infection that causes redness, itching, discharge, and sometimes pain in the eyes. It can be caused by viruses, bacteria, or allergies.

Pink eye can be spread easily from person to person through direct or indirect contact with the eye secretions of an infected person. Therefore, if your child has symptoms of pink eye, such as redness, swelling, discharge, or itching in one or both eyes, please do not send your child to school and contact your healthcare provider for diagnosis and treatment. Depending on the cause of the infection, your child may need antibiotic eye drops or ointments to clear it up. Please also notify me via ssor@asianhope.org
